I don't know about you, but I own clothing in at least 4 different sizes- and
it
all fits me!  To make matters worse, vintage clothing is often sized quite
differently than modern clothing.  So, I have no idea what size anyone
wears.

MEASUREMENTS are a much more accurate method of determining what
will fit you.  Please feel free to ask
coconut@luckycoconutsvintage.com
for any additional measurements not provided.
INGREDIENTS
You will need a tape measure!  In a pinch you can use a string/ribbon and a ruler: wrap the string around or across the
object, mark the string with a pen, lay it flat and measure it with the ruler- end to end.

METHOD

OPTION 1: Measure yourself!

1) After undressing (except for your under-garments), wrap a tape measure comfortably around the applicable areas of your
body-such as bust, waist, and hips.
The help of another human can really come in handy for measuring hard to reach
places- like your shoulders and pant inseam.  Also see below for more measuring tips.

2) Write down your measurements in inches (and remember, this is no time for exaggeration!  To make a mistake by a mere
inch can result in a very
unflattering fit!  Plus, then you can refer to the measurements at a later date when, inevitably, you
return to Lucky Coconut's for more fabulous treasures).

3) Compare your measurements to those provided on LuckyCoconut'sVintage.com!

4)
***Please remember to account for movement & layering of other clothing where necessary!!

OPTION 2 (best/recommended): Measure your clothes!

1) Find a piece of clothing in your wardrobe that:
A. fits you very,
very well and
B. is similar in form to the item you would like to buy (i.e., do not compare nightgown measurements to a pair of pants!).

2) Lay the piece of clothing on a
flat surface, stretch it flat and take its measurements including bust, waist, hips, shoulders,
sleeves, length and anything else that may be important to fitting your unique body.
Please note that when you take
"flat-measurements," the bust, waist and hip numbers should be doubled to account for the back of the garment/circular
nature of these measurements.

3) Compare your measurements to item measurements provided here on LuckyCoconutsVintage.com!

Here are some more TIPS to help you measure particular areas of the body.
Bust: Measure around the fullest part of the bust and back, with arms at sides. Make sure tape is level, not slanted in
front or back.
Waist: Measure around your torso where you normally wear the waistband of pants/skirt. For dresses, measure your
torso where it is the smallest/narrowest. Try bending to the side.
Shoulders: Measure armpit to armpit along back when standing upright.
Hips: Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips
Inseam: Wear shoes of the desired height and have someone measure the inside of your leg from crotch to the length
desired
Head: Wrap a tape measure around the head approximately 1/2 inch above ears and across forehead.

For greater accuracy, have someone else take the measurements!
